Lillian joined the DMG in autumn, 2011, with a background in design and digital media and an interest in education. In particular, she is interested in how the use and teaching of digital technology in the design studio affects the learning of design.
Her thesis research focuses on the impact and influence that technology has had on the design process in architecture and education, viewed through the lens of learning theories in educational psychology. Examinations of social context in the design studio and professional practice may reveal methods to better integrate technology with studio instruction to prepare students for future success as architectural leaders.
Lillian holds an MA in Teaching and a BA from the University of Southern California. She is currently Coordinator for the School of Design at The Art Institute of Seattle, and manages the Industrial Design and Interior Design Programs.
