Roark joined the DMG in the Autumn of 2009. His background includes sculpture, design of the Seattle Center skate-board park (now demolished), teaching, and writing--he is author of "Architectural Model Building: Tools, Techniques, & Materials" which came out in the Winter of 2010. His interests focus on the affordances of physical models and tangible interaction and pedagogy of design computing.

Roark completed his MS in Winter, 2014. His thesis committee chair was Kimo Griggs. He now teaches Design Computing courses and assists in the CBE fabrication labs at the UW, as well as teaching a number of courses at the Art Institute of Seattle.
