About ...

Vidhya Rajendran is a recent graduate from the MSDC program. Her culminating master’s thesis was on the design of a sound absorptive panel targeted at the intruding speech sounds to improve open office acoustics. She did this research in partnership with NBBJ which was facilitated through the Applied Research Consortium (ARC) program. This research combined her skills in digital fabrication, coding, and analytical thinking.

She is passionate about computational design and took courses on AI and optimization algorithms to integrate them in architectural designing. She interned with ZGF where she built an interface for data analysis of occupant satisfaction surveys and designed custom plugins for Revit software.

She has an undergrad major in Architecture from the Department of Architecture at the National Institute of Technology Trichy, India. She worked as a Junior Architect in India for a year before joining the Master’s program at UW.
