Viswanathan joined the DMG and MS program in design computing in the autumn of 2010. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Madras in 2004.
Since 2004, he has worked in Soliton Technologies, Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) and Broadcom Corp. His expertise is in the field of electronics design, image and video processing, semiconductors and the design of visual computing devices such as smart cameras.
Viswanathan is interested in the application of image processing, computational photography and computer graphics to built environments. His thesis work on hdrscope received the 2013 MS Thesis Citation.
