About

This project attempts to capture and make available some of the very early work in computing done in the Department of Architecture at the University of Washington. The department had one of the first "high speed" (9600bps) serial lines on campus, a vector refresh (Imlac PDS-1) display/computer, and did 3D animation to 16mm film with the help of folks at Boeing.

The Digital History Project seeks to gather additional information from students and others involved in this era. Look for the "comment" links within the project, or email Brian Johnson (brj@u.washington.edu) if you have memories or information you'd be willing to share.
